Due to future projected expansion and an aging existing Main HV Switchboard the client purchased and installed a new 22 panel ABB HV switchboard. BME Electrical were employed to supply and install new parallel 500mm 11kV cabling between the existing client owned 33 – 11kV transformers and the new HV switchboard and also transfer all existing 185mm 11kV ring cables from the existing HV switchboard to the new HV switchboard.

We also tasked with cabling & commissioning of the control system which included the supply, install and terminating of all control cabling between the existing HV control room and the New sub – station , modifications to existing control panels. Commissioning involved primary injection, stability tests, interface testing with NIE and ABB and energising with NIE load and phasing checks.

All works were carried out in phases with no disruption or loss of power at any point to the plant.
